This week, Latin Pulse focuses on the powerful in three countries in Latin America: Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Last weekend's elections in Guatemala and Nicaragua have produced different controversies. In Guatemala, concerns focus on how former Gen. Otto Perez Molina will deal with human rights when he ascends to the presidency. In Nicaragua, concerns center on the constitutionality of the second term of President Daniel Ortega of the Sandinistas and complaints of election abuses. The program also features an in-depth interview reviewing the performance of President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.
In-Depth Interviews:
Maureen Meyer of the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA); and
Andres Serbin of CRIES.
Executive Producer: Rick Rockwell
Associate Producer: Vanessa Haces-Gonzatti
